Some interesting facts include:
- The creation of the museum was initiated by an Act of Congress back in 1929 and said to be "a tribute to the Negros' contribution to the achievements of America"
- President Bush signed the law creating the museum in 2003
The museum is open and ready for everyone to enjoy. And because it is a Smithsonian Museum, admission is FREE, thus removing any hesitation to pay a visit.
